Two-factor-authentication or 2fa for short is a great way to secure your Fortnite account properly. It works as an extra layer of security on top of your password meaning that even if your passwords fall into wrong hands, your account will remain safe. Unlike most other platforms that use 2fa, Fortnite will only ask you for the verification code when you’re not logged in for more than 30 days or when your account is accessed from a new device.
We strongly recommend even if you don’t think you need it because Epic Games regularly creates events that Fortnite players can be a part of only if 2fa is enabled on their accounts. These events include account merge, gifting, store sales, etc.
How to Enable 2FA?
Enabling 2fa on an Epic Games account is easy and fast. All you have to do is to log in your account on your web browser and go to epicgames.com/2fa. On this page, you will either set your 2fa verification through your registered e-mail or via an authenticator app. There are four authenticator apps approved by Epic Games.
- Google Authenticator
- LastPass Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
After choosing the 2fa method you prefer, you will be done with 2fa. Now whenever Epic Games comes up with a special event, you will certainly be a part of it!
